Q. What is UGAI?
A. UGAI is a member driven organization serving the non-traditional gospel artists with a focus on bridging the gap between churches and traditional gospel markets and urban gospel markets, including contemporary gospel, neo-soul, R&P (rhythm & praise), holy hip hop, Christian reggae and reggaetone, spoken word, Christian jazz, and comedy.

Q. Why do you charge membership fees?
A. There’s a nominal membership fee to join UGAI to help off-set administrative costs and to help facilitate planned UGAI member events.

Q. Do you have to be a gospel artist to join UGAI?
A. You do not have to be an artist to enjoy the benefits of UGAI. Membership is open to artists, managers, labels, booking agents, promoters, and everyone with a passion for gospel music and who can embrace the vision to promote urban and non-traditional gospel.

Q. How can I become a chapter rep?
A. If there is not a UGAI chapter in your area and you would like to start one, you should send a resume or bio with a brief statement as to why you would like to become a rep and how you feel you could benefit this ministry. Please contact us for more information.

Q. Are UGAI events free?
A. Monthly scheduled UGAI events are free to the public, however the national headquarters or various local chapters will occasionally sponsor events that might incur a nominal admission depending on the type of event.

Q. Do I have to be a member of UGAI to participate in a UGAI sponsored concert?
A. Although it is encouraged that all concert participants be UGAI members, at this time, you do not have to be a UGAI member to participate in local chapter events. However, artists who wish to participate in events sponsored by chapters outside of their local areas, must be UGAI members.

Q. How long is membership?
A. Membership is for either one or two years.

Q. What is the tenure for chapter reps?
A. Initially, chapter reps hold the responsibility for one year at the discretion of the national chapter.

Q. Are you affiliated with GMWA?
A. UGAI supports the mission of GMWA, however, we are in no way affiliated with GMWA or any other gospel music association.

Q. How can I benefit as a UGAI member?
A. Benefits include more performance/ministry opportunities, more exposure, free and discounted exposure and overall support from your fellow UGAI members. Our most popular benefits are our FREE BOOKING REFERRALS and our FREE EMAIL PROMOTION to over 32,000. However cardholders also receive discounts on select events such as industry conferences and functions, and various ministry partner products and services.

Q. How can I become a ministry partner?
A. Ministry partners provides products or services at a discount to UGAI members. To become a partner, please contact us.
